Author bio: Dr. Agata Kołodziejczyk is a neurobiologist and astrobiologist specializing in space life sciences and human adaptation to extreme environments. She co-founded the Analog Astronaut Training Center in Poland, where she has led over 100 simulated lunar and Martian missions. Dr. Kołodziejczyk holds a PhD from Stockholm University and has worked with the European Space Agency’s Advanced Concepts Team on biomimetic and life-support research. As leader of bioastronautics group at Faculty of Space Technologies AGH University of Kraków, she currently focuses on gravitational biology, shielding biomaterials, and habitat engineering for future crewed spaceflight in BLSS systems.
