Author bio: Dr. Andrzej Nowak is Brasfield and Gorrie Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Auburn University, after 11 years as Elton & Lois G. Huff Eminent Scholar Department Chair, 8 years at the University of Nebraska and 25 years at the University of Michigan. He is President of Council of Polish Engineers in North America.
