The “Youth for Space Challenge” ODYSSEUS II aims to inspire young people from all over Europe and engage them in space exploration through a series of educational activities, which will combine scientific learning with hands-on experience. An entertaining educational competition will target all pupils and students in Europe, and the project will foster the development of qualified scientists, engineers and technicians in areas relevant to the priorities of the European Union’s space policy. Odysseus II is a three-year project that began in January 2015 in the context of the HORIZON 2020 programme. Centrum Badań Kosmicznych PAN was responsible for outreach activities in Poland and the Baltic States, it created the large network of volunteers, mentors, evaluators and translators, needed to successfully lead the project. The institute also organized the Help Desk for contestants from all over Europe and prepared explanatory materials such as videos, illustrations and presentations. The Centre organized also seminars for teachers informing how they can take part in the project.
