MARS-EXPRESS was an ESA mission launched on June 2, 2003. The aim of the project was to investigate the surface and the atmosphere of Mars from its orbit. Poland was involved in the PFS experiment (Planetary Fourier Spectrometer). The device was constructed by an international cooperation, i.e. the Italian-Polish-French-Spanish-US-Japanese team. It covered the ranges of IR wavelengths 1.2-5μm (short wavelength channel SWC) and 5-45μm (long wavelength channel LWC). The CBK PAN provided two parts of the instrument: a power supply and scanner to navigate the observation’s angle.
