The aim of the project is to develop a data service on groundwater resources for the Baltic countries, Poland and Ukraine, with particular emphasis on the border areas of Ukraine, as well as a detailed analysis of changes in groundwater resources in this area. For this purpose, observational and model data from many sources will be developed – ground-based measurements of the groundwater table, topographic data, geological data, satellite images, data from the GRACE/GRACE-FO gravimetric mission, hydrological models. Based on these data, a model of changes in groundwater resources will be developed, and then the spatial resolution of the obtained model will be increased using artificial intelligence methods. The main task of CBK PAN will be to participate in the scientific part of the project, in particular to develop data from the GRACE/GRACE-FO mission and hydrological models in order to analyze groundwater resources.
