Civil Security Hub Poland

Civil Security Hub Poland, as part of the European Space Agency (ESA) initiative called Space Resilience Nodes, translates innovative solutions based on satellite and drone technologies into real-world needs of rescue services, civil protection, and crisis management.

The Hub collaborates with public administration and emergency services to enable faster and more efficient responses to threats such as floods or fires, as well as with technology providers to create products that genuinely strengthen civil security. The ambition of Civil Security Hub Poland is to strive for the most effective possible use of innovation and to overcome organizational and technical barriers.

Civil Security Hub Poland is established by scientific and technological partners and experts from institutions such as: Centrum Informacji Kryzysowej Centrum Badań Kosmicznych PAN (CIK CBK PAN), CloudFerro, ICEYE, Warsaw University of Technology, and the European Space Foundation. This represents a combination of scientific knowledge, technological infrastructure, and practical experience in cooperation with emergency services and public administration.

CS Hub Poland has been initiated and is operated by the Crisis Information Centre of the Space Research Centre PAS. CIK CBK PAN is responsible, inter alia, for verifying the quality of products and services developed within the Hub, as well as providing support to end users. It also cooperates with the European Space Foundation in promoting knowledge about the use of satellite technologies in the field of civil security.

Civil Security Hub Poland provides access to innovative solutions based on satellite and drone data and offers operational support. A key element of the Hub is the Innovation-Pipeline-as-a-Service model, which creates a framework for testing and implementing products that address real needs. By organizing trainings and trials based on realistic scenarios, the Hub strengthens users’ competencies and operational capabilities. The Hub’s activities also foster the development of best practices and the building of systemic mechanisms for the adoption of innovation in the field of civil security.
