Author bio: Dr Siwek is an assistant professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań. The main focus of her research is the implementation of artificial empathy in learning and adaptation processes. Dr Siwek employs the concept of theory of mind and cognitive empathy, combined with a fuzzy approach, to design swarms that not only cooperate but also learn from each other in the same way humans do. She leads the „Artificial Empathy in Swarms” research group, which connects researchers from Adam Mickiewicz University and Poznań University of Technology, as well as students and companies interested in the project. In addition to her research, Dr Siwek manages the Computer Science program at the Faculty.
